The way hypnosis works is threefold. First of all, no one is born overeating. In the womb, we are surrounded by nourishment 24 hours a day. Babies take food whenever they need it and because food is always there babies are born with a belief that says ‘food is always available’ and because of that if a baby does not want to eat you can’t make them eat. When they have had enough they stop they know more food will be there later.

Babies have no problem refusing food, it isn’t just newborns, who simply will not overeat, most two year olds who request ice cream, take a few bites, then decide they don’t want any more, because their mind says very clearly ‘food is always there’. Naturally slim people can have half a bar of chocolate in their bag or in or desk drawer because they too have the exact same belief ‘food is always available I don’t want any more right now ‘It is this same thought process that allows some people to order steak and fries then leave half the fries.

We are all born with the belief that food is there all the time, but once you get into the diet mentality, which says ‘Cookies, desserts and candy are bad naughty food that I cannot have and must not eat’. What happens is that we want it more.

If you have parents who make you eat everything then say how good you are, or punish you by sending you to your room without dessert, or parents who won’t allow you to have chocolate because they are either fanatically healthy or they simply cannot afford things like that, you form a new belief, which is: ‘Oh, I really want those foods but I can’t have them they are not allowed.’ And of course, when you can’t have something, you want it more and more and more, and that is the psychology of everything we want. We particularly want what we can’t have, what is forbidden or not available and diets don’t deal with that. A diet says ‘If you want to lose weight instead of having dessert, have an apple. But you think “I don’t want an apple, I want a dessert”. Then you end up eating the dessert, just because you were told you can’t have them. Hypnosis works by taking you back to show you how, when and why you formed a distorted relationship with food and it then cures

it completely and permanently by rewiring your thoughts about food and changing your relationship with food forever.

Your mind does what it thinks you want it to do. When you have parents who say, “You have been so good, let’s have a treat,” or “Oh you had a bad day, let’s make things better with ice cream,” you are reinforcing and rewiring

your mind to believe that food makes everything better, particularly junk food. When we hear that over and over again for 15 years it forms an imprint in our minds.

If you think, “I’ve had a really bad day so I’m going to eat a whole tub of Ben and Jerry’s and that will cheer me up,” that is an action that is run by a thought process. If you try to take away the action of consoling yourself with junk food but don’t take away the thought process (the belief) that led to that action, then almost all people will resume bad eating habits. habit of thinking you change your habit of action for good.

    For awhile after I quit my job to be a stay at home mom I stopped using my app and I gained 10 pounds. I have since gone back to using the app and I have a goal to go from a size 18-20 to a 10-12 by next year 2016 and I know with this app I can do it lost 35 pounds on it before.

    Until such time as you deal effectively with the underlying causes of weight fluctuations anything else can be likened to a sticking plaster. Research in Australia decades ago identified 17 categories of psychological causes affecting weight. Unless these are investigated and dealt with by clearing them out and rebuilding the self esteem all you are doing is treating symptoms.

    As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I’ve seen cases where people lose 60 or more pounds as a result of hypnotherapy. Not self-hypnosis, not guided visualizations or mediations, but a real hypnotherapy as taught in State Licensed schools and facilitated by a certified professional. In order for the subconscious mind to take suggestions and be impressed upon, all sorts of negative beliefs and emotions needs to be brought into consciousness and thoroughly transformed. Conflicting parts of the ego should be identified, “gestalted” with and integrated into a complete personality. Self-esteem must be raised. And in many cases, believe it or not, unforgiveness stands on the way and a properly guided age regression is required. This is the art and science of clinical and interpersonal hypnosis. Success of a hypnotherapy session is very dependent upon the training and experience of the hypnotherapist.

      +Satans Fetus Legs Read up on Jon Gabriel. He lost 200 pounds and kept it off for over 10 years. He ascribes his body as “the body he imaged and visualized that he would have”. He used a lot of visualization as well as stress reduction to lose weight. Stress (mental and emotional especially) can increase cortisol which in turn, stores fat. That’s very scientific. Also, watch “hungry for change” it’s on netflix. That will help too. Good luck in your research. :)

So for weight loss hypnosis, you would receive information that you are comfortable around food, that you crave healthy food and healthy exercise. You can hypnotize yourself by getting into a very relaxed state where your mind goes into alpha waves and becomes highly suggestible.     Not all hypnosis is the same, especially for effective weight control. Just visualizing food cravings flying away is nice, yet impressing upon the subconscious mind can get tricky if deeply rooted negative beliefs are not transformed. As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with three State Licensed Diplomas, I also know that negative subconscious beliefs lead to negative emotions like fear, guilt, anger, etc. – and those need to be transformed as well for hypnotic suggestions to be taken by the deep inner mind. Suggestion and visualization therapy used alone is often not so efficient for long term changes to take effect. Sometimes, use of gestalt dialogues between various parts of our ego is necessary, i.e. between a part that is motivated to go to a gym and a part that has a secret reward for being overweight; in some cases utilization of the age regression to the cause of certain behaviors is required. Experience and training of a hypnotherapist is of critical importance here. Not all hypnotherapists have State Licensed Diplomas and that affects how efficient the weight loss or any other hypnotic sessions are. I noticed that many people believe that hypnotherapy is all about relaxation, visualizations and suggestions (direct or indirect). In reality this is just a tip of the iceberg and deeply transformational hypnosis goes far beyond that.
